What Does Volume Mean In Google Finance?

What Does Volume Mean In Google Finance?

Does Google Finance "Vol:" mean number of shares traded today or over the last 'n' days?
And does"Avg Vol" mean average number of shares traded daily over the last 5 days, 20 days, 100 days?
Or something else completely?

It should give you a time frame, if it says 3mo than that is the average volume over the past 3 months. Try www.investopedia.com for any investing questions.
