I am watching the value of Korean won traded against the dollar. It's trading at 913 to the dollar all day – then some fool pays 938 and the price jums up for about 10 minutes and then falls back to 912. What gives?
Day trading

Most of the trading in fx markets is done by major banks, for their clients or for their own account. The 'fool' may have been a government, or a company needing won to pay for a shipment, or an oil company, or a bank. The dollar isn't 'propped up', it trades quite freely.
10/2: Bought 14 shares FXI, Bought CPSL, Sold CPSL
10/3: Bought GTEC, Sold GTEC
10/4: Bought LIPD, Sold LIPD
10/5: Buy 2 FXI, Sell 16 FXI

If I complete the trade listed above on Oct. 5, will I be flagged a PDT?

Yes.
Ie, forex, CFD's, indices etc? If you are, can you shed some light on how to start and how much capital you started with?

Well, fx cfds are great and hedge funds use them to make millions.. but day trading? the answer above said it.. a losing game.

i think sometime ago i came across a emperical studied that proved day-traders lose everything in the long-run.

some of the best traders dont over-trade. they don't commit without any goal.

investment is key.

can potentially make lot of money from trading cfds from making 10 trades a year – holding them for sometime -provided u have the margin.. than from day-trading. the money u make today ull lose tomorrow.

U can try this in the demo account .
and u can trade oil ,gold, NASDAQ 100, DJ 30 , and many more .Forex trading .

Your chances are good if you;
Take 6 months to a year reading, learning and paper trading.
You fully understand the fundemental and technical aspects &(just as important) use very exact money management techniques.

Ignoring the above will put you with the 95% of people that blow their FX accounts (usually very very very quickly).

Consider yourself warned!

This is a great market for those that take the time and make the effort. All others lose big.

Hi,

i am a newbie in trading FX, just wondering if FX also need 3 days settlement like stock? also, any recommendation which online FX broker is better. Thanks

People who bad mouth FX, don't trade it. Yeah they probably lost there money because they didn't know what they where doing 10 years ago when retail FX got started. Educate your self, Buy a couple of books and open a Demo account for a few months to get the hang of it. Start small and build your knowledge and your account. Don't listen to the nay Sayers there to busy spending time on here collecting points.

I use Lightning Strikes Trading System for trading in any time frame and it works on forex, stocks, bonds, etf's, mutual funds, etc… They have 3 free training sessions a week and you don't have to buy the software to join in the live chat and text. You can even watch some recorded past live sessions. Here are some past charts that I used.

http://f1.grp.yahoofs.com/v1/MB16RxjOUQt…

There are 7 indicators (2 short, 2 medium, and 3 long term) and if volume is reported another one is added (on balance volume). Plus whatever time-frame is used the 2 green horizontal lines are the support and resistance for that time frame. So when indicators are all touching the bottom price is at or very, very near support. At top is at or very, very near resistance. Which helps my entry/exits and risk/reward ratio.

Yes, you can make 1000 dollars a day with forex trading. However, Forex Trading involves substantial risk of loss, and may not be suitable for everyone.

:)

To one of my earlier questions, some people said I could trade in FX and make money from the movement of exchange rates (I was invited to visit 4xmoneytrain, 4xgenie, etc websites).

The presentations made the concepts clear. I'm based in India. I don't know how to go about these exactly! Who shd I contact? where'll I find a FX broker / FX Broker software using which I can place my deals?

If there's someone who's using this method to earn money, I'd appreciate some personal advise! I guess 2 trillion USD turnover a day has enough for all of us individuals to thrive on!

Thanks, in advance!

I think you'll need a web-based forex trading company.
They have a free ebook on all about forex trading which you can download for free, read and enlighten yourself before you start trading.
You can also invest as little as $25 to test your trading skills.
There are other numerous advantages which they offer as well.
I am a hardcore trader too.
Happy trading…

It is about 3 months that I'm studying hardly forex. I have a good underestanding cause my previous job was "pragramming C#" and I left it to enter to trading world. but unfortunately I have not come up with a trading system that really works and make profits.
I'm in stress cause I should start my real trading as soon as possible. I prefer my positions be open for several days or more cause I don't want new stresses. Please elaborate me your system that you have experience of working with it.
I am 37 and I want to open my real account with about 2,500 US $.
Please introduce me a trustable broker in advance cause this is second problem that has confused me.
European brokers are much preferred. I let you know my experience in future and will send you post cards to appreciate your useful answers.
You can really help me

If you don't want stress, you've picked the wrong vocation.

You're probably wanting to do it for the money, not for the process of trading. Or maybe you're good at analyzing the markets and setting up the computer to analyze and evaluate, but that doesn't make a trader.

If you're just doing it for the money, you will not approach the market properly, you will be impatient, and you will tire easily. Really, there are lots of better ways to make money. You probably already expect to earn an income from such a small investment of $2,500. If these are true, you have unrealistic expectations, and you will not succeed.

PremiereTrade is one of the best trading platforms for the Forex beginner, because they have such a great community of others to help you get going. It costs $3,000. But they will tell you up front to paper trade in the Demo Account for a year before you actually commit money.

Neither does a brain surgeon walk out of school and pick up a scapel and begin operating, or an engineer walk out of class and begin building skyscrapers. And you have not even begun to learn, let alone apply the rules of trading, or to master your fears and emotions, or even know what they are.

I think most people come to trading expecting to "Get rich quick." Doctors and lawyers are the worst traders in existence, because they are used to being in control. Almost all professionals do poorly at first, because they have succeeded elsewhere, and expect it to be easy.

Trading is the most difficult challenge you will ever face. If it were easy, we would all be rich. But instead, 80% of all traders blow out their account within the first year.

Personally, I have lost everything three times, trading the stock market index futures. Now I have finally settled on Forex, and am doing quite well after 17 years of learning.

If you buy PremiereTrade, they will charge you $100/mo for the data feed. For one year, that is another $1,200. You can trade a simulator for free here and learn as you go:
