I'm looking for a subscription service that helps me managing my money. I'd like to buy or short indices funds like Rydex funds for medium or long terms (not for day trading), preferably a few times a year.
Day trading

I don't think those subscription services are what you need. The problem with most of them is that they are over hyped and usually don't account for real world practice and conditions. If you want to make a lot of money on the market you got to do your own research. Think about it, if the subscriptions are that hot why do they tell other people about it? I am a licensed adviser and I have seen too many people looking for the short cut and after being disappointed a few times quit the market all together. I would recommend you to look at some thing like the Motley Fools or IBD and look at what they like and why they like what they like and then do your own research on the company or fund managers. When you buy a fund you are betting on the management's ability to beat the market, that is all. Another thing, this I learned myself after thousands of dollars worth of market lessons. Don't try to time the market. There are to many factors that we do not control. The consistent way to beat the market is through figuring out the fundamentals and let time do the growing for you. Market timing and refusing to cut loses are two sure way to decimate your portfolio. So be careful and do your research before sinking your hard earned dollars.
I’m looking for a online stock trading company were I don’t have to have tons of money (10k-25k) to open an acct., make a minimum amount of trades and that don’t have a lot of fees
Is there such a company out there?
It would also be nice if they have an office somewhere (in the Atlanta area) as well but mandatory

If I hear about a stock I just want to log on research it and buy as many or as little shares as I want or as many times as I want a day, week, month or year at a flat rate.

Is there such a company?

Check out Scottrade, you can even do limit orders for $7/trade and they have a great trading system.

The most successful investor of all time warren buffet uses the buy and hold forever strategy. He picks stock that are of quality names like coke, gillete and so forth. waits till the price on the company is attractive and buys it. This strategy is also very advantagous tax wise too as any capital gains on stocks held less than a year are taxed at a regualar income rate. Long term capital gains are taxed at lower rates. Plus you are taxed on your capital gains when you sell your shares so if you are buying shares and selling them then buying new ones right away then you will have to use other sources of income to pay your taxes unless you are trading in an ira so I would not reccomend active trading unless you are doing so in an ira.

Long term investing is not gambling!

Warren buffet own his own company and you can invest in it berkshire hathaway ticker symbol brkb or brka

Hey, I know this question depends on opinions, and even though I tried searching online for articles about it, I can't seem to find an answer.

If I plan to start day trading, what's the minimum amount of equity should I have? I mean by day trading, in my case, doing 3 to 5 orders per day.

if you know any articles discussing this, it would be great!

It's totally depends on U. If you have small amount of money, then, try to find the trading company which require minimum deposit whatever amount ask for. In my personal experiences, they require minimum $500 for starting.
I am somewhat of a novice investor, but I purchased a penny stock and I'm trying to understand why yahoo! will only show 5 days of trading history when I have clearly owned the stock for 5 weeks. Google won't even recognize the ticker symbol, and schwab shows limited history as well. I tried asking this once and it got deleted, someone please help!

Penny stocks, or pink sheet stocks, are so thinly traded, that they are not tracked by schwab, thestreet.com, bloomberg, etc. so you can't get the information as readily as you can larger, more established companies. You can call Schwab and ask your broker for an update. You can also go on the company website and see if there is any investor information. Before you buy a stock, you should look at the financials of the company. If you do not have that information, ask the company for it. Tell them you are an investor, and you want the company financials, quarterlies, updates,etc.-to be added to their mailing list. On some company websites, you can actually sign up to receive investor information by email. If it is a very new, small company, that may not be available to you via email. Good luck! Hope you have a winner. Those penny stocks are very difficult– it's not like buying Google- where you can find everything at your fingertips!

Depends on the company. In most cases, yes. You'll have to read the fine print/
Say company XYZ finished the trading day at 50 on a Monday and I believe the following day(Tuesday) that the price will fall. If I wish to short the stock when is the best time to place my order to sell short? Would it be before the close of the trading day Monday, or would it be early on Tuesday? Also how does after hours trading play into my decision? I plan on doing this from an Etrade account and would like to know what strategy would work best.
Day trading

In your scenario your gain would be larger if you short before the close on Monday. IF you are right. There is typically a large movement in share prices at the open. So if you wait until Tuesday, and the stock does fall you miss out on a big part of the drop.

The disadvantage to shorting on Monday afternoon is that you can't be sure what will happen overnight and the effect on the next day's stock movement. Which makes it more risky. Personally, I only short in real time, when I can see the price action in front of me.

After hours trading may cause a price shift which may be reflected in the next days open. If you monitor AH action, you can use that to validate your assumptions.

It seems unlikely that a $200 million dollar company just wouldn't have any trading interest 4 hours after the markets open.
Day trading

Why does that seem unlikely? It's so thinly traded I wouldn't be surprised at all. The average volume is only 4000. Tuesday it didn't trade btween 9:30 and 2:00. That's 4.5 hours. And yesterday it didn't trade until 3:00.
What can the daytrade company do to collect this debt? Does the credit card company have any claim to his account?
Day trading

The brokerage wouldn't have to do anything. You have to deposit the money into the brokerage account and have cleared funds before you can trade. You would have to use a cash advance or a credit card check to get money to deposit into your brokerage account.

So your estate would owe the credit card company, just the same as if you had run up your credit cards on anything else. The executor of your estate would have to sell something to cover the debts, and the stocks would be a likely a candidate. So really, in the event of your death, the credit card company doesn't have a specific claim on the stocks, but a general claim against all of your assets, before they are disbursed to your heirs.

You should really do what you can to find a hedge fund. There are large well established funds, but there are also small start-up funds.

You would be shocked how much they pay for analysts out of college (6 figures usually!) for NYC offices. There are so many funds these days that the demand is extremely high. That being said, the recent choppiness in the credit markets may have led to a pullback in hedge fund analyst demand.

In order to find these guys, you are just going ot have to do some legwork. Try a company on the web called Glocap.
